Raja Gangadhar Rao was the Maharaja or the supreme king of Jhansi city. He was the husband of the valorous and gallant freedom fighter Queen Laxmi Bai, the queen of Jhansi. This Mahal or Palace inside the Jhansi Fort had once been the residence of King Raja Gangadhar Rao.
