Kali Ghat in Kolkata (Calcutta) is a popular pilgrim centre. A temple of Kali (the goddess), exists in this place. At first the original temple was a small hut and it was expanded in to the current structure in 1809. Goddess Kali is worshipped here.

This is a place of historical importance from which the present name of Kolkata has been derived. Pilgrims from all over the country visit this place to seek blessings from Kali (the goddess).

There are small stalls near this place which offer worship offerings to those who visit this place. It is an important tourist destination and is worth visiting.
