Featured here is the Kopoy Lake and Village near Shantiniketan in Kolkata, West Bengal state. The lake and the adjacent areas are used by the Santhal tribes as their crematorium. Santhals are the largest tribes in India. It was Tagore who strived for the reformation of the Santhals, brought them here and settled them in the nearby villages in and around Shantiniketan.
