The Great War Memorial of Kolkata is a monument erected by the British government of India. This monument was constructed to commemorate the Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the World War II while defending India from the Japanese. One can see the inscription ‘The Glorious Dead’ in the memorial.

This cenotaph is located in the Kolkata Maidan opposite Eden Gardens Cricket stadium.
