Brahmi - Improves mental ability in Children

Scientific name: Baeopa monnieri
Sanskrit name : Brahmi

The medicinal property in the herb helps improve mental ability in children. North Indians use another herb, muthil instead of brahmi which also possess the same properties. Muthil heals skin diseases and if added with raw turmeric it also can fight allergy.

Twenty one leaves of muthil and a small piece of turmeric, ground together makes a good oral drug against skin diseases. The same paste added with juice of holy basil leaves bundled in a small piece of cloth may be squeezed and rubbed over the affected part of the skin brings speedy relief. The process should be continued for at least two hours. The patient may then be allowed to take a bath in warm water in which the juice of one lemon added.
