Written and directed by M. V. Raman the 1951 social guidance film Bahar was the remake of the 1949 Tamil film Vazhkai. The film tells the story of Lata, who wish to lead a wealthy life, was Vyjayanthimala’s Hindi debut. It also features Karan Dewan, Pandari Bai, Pran, Om Prakash and Leela Mishra in major roles.
The film was further enriched by the enticing soundtrack composed by S.D Burman. Burman’s use of Shamshad Begum’s voice became a hit, especially in the song Saiyan Dil Mein Aana Re. Qasoor Aapka which is one of Kishore Kumar’s early hit is also from this film.
