Mudiyattam

Mudiyattam is a folk art form popular in the rural areas of Kerala, India. It is, however, more prevalent in areas like Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Kollam. There are many varieties of this art form. In the video, one such type is potrayed, in which a woman is seen sitting in the midst of a circle of other women. She moves rhythmically according to the songs in the background, which is accompanied by the engaging tunes of percussions. Mudiyattam is characterised by the graceful movements of the head and wonderful vitality.
