Keralites welcome all festivals with an enthusiastic and cheerful fervour and Christmas is no exception.
The unique cosmopolitan culture Christmas celebrations have crossed all religious or social barriers and reached all sections of the society.
It is a solemn occasion to remember Jesus, his life and ultimate sacrifice and his message of compassion and brotherhood. Like elsewhere in the world, X’mas stars, trees, cribs and greeting cards form an integral part of the Christmas celebrations in Kerala. Streets get dotted with a variety of Christmas markets and special ‘sales-cum-exhibition’.
In the video, one such sales-cum-exhibition is seen. Held at the Vellayambalam Animation Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, the ‘Square One Christmas Exhibition’ attracts a large number of people.
The annual carnival features a wide variety of Christmas curiosities including stars, Santa Claus dolls, decorations and the like. Cakes of some 30 varieties are another attraction of the exhibition.
