Koladi Govindan Kutty's residence

The video shows the residence of late Koladi Govindan Kutty at Ponnani in Malappuram, who was a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly and a prominent leader of Communist Party of India (CPI).

Though born into a wealthy noble family Govindan Kutty was attracted to the Communist ideology at a young age. At the age of 26, he became the youngest member of the first elected legislative assembly of the state in 1957 from the Andathode constituency.

He had also served as the state president of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF), president of Kerala Kalamandalam and editor of Janayugam daily. His major works include ‘Valmiki Ramayana’, ‘Ormayil Jeevikkunnavar' and ‘Onnu chirikku orikkal koodi’. Govindan Kutty died on 13 August 2003.
