Sainik School, Kazhakkuttam

Established in 1962 with Gyan Anushasan Sahayog (Knowledge, Discipline and Co-operation) as its motto, the Sainik School or Military School is a famous educational institution situated at Kazhakkoottam in Thiruvananthapuram city, Kerala, South India.

It was the idea of late V.K.Krishna Menon, who was the Defence Minister of India, to start a school in every state of the country with a military tradition.

The main aim of this educational institution is to prepare the boys academically, physically and mentally fit to enter the National Defence Academy and related walks of life.
