Mechanized harvest in paddy fields of Kerala

Shown in this video is the mechanized harvest of paddy fields in Kerala, a state in the southern part of India. Among the agricultural practices of Kerala is the cultivation of paddy fields. The video shows a harvest session in progress at a paddy field in Palakkad district of Kerala, which in fact is a district popular as one of the prominent rice granaries of Kerala.

Earlier, in Kerala, harvest involved traditional methods, when men, women and bulls toiled hard on the paddy fields. Nowadays, we can see modern machines like the one featuring in the video – a combine harvester that can harvest and also thresh paddy; making the job much easier for the farming community.
