Threshing Navara, the medicinal paddy

Navara or Njavara is a kind of rice noted for its medicinal properties. This rice variety is grown in large scale in the district of Palakkad (Palghat) in Kerala.  The medicinal properties of Navara rectify basic illnesses affecting the respiratory and digestive systems. It is inevitable for the rejuvenation therapy of Panchakarma in Ayurveda. Organic farming is ideal for Navara for best results.
