World's largest floral carpet

Onam is the time for everyone in Kerala state, India to lay out floral carpets in front of their homes. But this year the mother of all floral carpets was laid out by, of all the people, the police in the state of Kochi. With the aim of becoming more people friendly, the police in Kochi laid out a 12,000 square feet floral carpet using five tonnes of flowers. This carpet called ‘Janamaithri Pookkalam’ was prepared by the Police with the help and support of the people under the theme of ‘Suraksha scheme’.
