Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Pune

Pune is alos famous for its Ganesh Chaturthi festival held in September each year. The second day of the ten day event in Pune is a women’s day. Women perform the ‘Maha Arti’ early in the morning dressed in traditional attire. Masses of women also sat in the road in front of the Dagduseth temple to offer prayers. This is a decades old tradition which has also become a tourist attraction. Tourists seeing the function are left spellbound.
