K. S. Chithra, Play back singer

This video presents the speech rendered by the popular playback singer Smt. K.S. Chithra at a function organized by COTSA (Cotton Hill Old Teachers' and Students' Association) in Thiruvananthapuram on 12th February 2010. Cotton Hill is the largest girls’ school in Asia.

Born in Trivandrum, Smt. Chithra received her thorough training in Carnatic music from Dr. K. Omanakutty and was introduced into Malayalam Film Industry by music director M.G.Radhakrisnan. She had sung around 25 thousand songs until now and is successfully continuing her career.

She has won many state and national level awards in her career. Chithra also known as the nightingale of South India made the occasion memorable by singing a song.
