Rajasthani Ghoomar Dance

Rajasthan is famous for its folk traditions especially about music and dance. The Rajasthani Ghoomar dance, one of the traditional folk dance and the most popular form of Rajasthani dance in India. The dancers, all women, perform this dance during auspicious events and occasions. The name Ghoomar is derived from the word Ghoomna, which means twirling. The colorful voluminous long skirts known as Ghagra look stunningly when they gracefully sway while the women dance.
