Yantra Raj in Jantar Mantar, Jaipur

Do visit the historic site of Jantar Mantar in Jaipur, Rajasthan state of India, to get the glimpse of natural calculation instruments used to determine time, predict eclipses and to locate even stars. A collection of architectural astronomical instruments, Jantar Mantar was built by Maharaj Jai Singh II, the erstwhile ruler of Rajasthan. This particular video shows the Yantra Raj, an instrument that observes altitudes and all the positions of the heavenly bodies. It is a stereographic projection of heaven on plane of equator.
