Adam Gilchrist, captain of Kings XI Punjab, IPL 2012

Adam Gilchrist, the former swashbuckling opening batsman and wicketkeeper of Australian cricket team is the captain and coach of Kings XI Punjab, one of the IPL teams owned by Bollywood actor Preity Zinta.

Kings XI Punjab includes players from Australia like David Hussey and Shawn Marsh. Piyush Chawla, the leg spinner and the swing bowler Praveen Kumar from India are also part of the KXI Punjab squad.

The best performance of KXI Punjab so far in IPL was when they reached the semifinal during the 2008 edition of the tournament. The tournament sponsor is DLF.
