Pleasing the rain God, Tamil Nadu

Once a year villagers in an around Kondipalli in Tamil Nadu vacate their villages and go and stay in the forest for one day. They take all their belongings also during the evacuation. This is done to please the rain God. They even take their cattle along. The villagers believe that by doing this they will receive the rain God’s blessings and obtain plentiful rains.
