Supreme Court of India
The Supreme Court of India, the highest court of the country, was established on 28th January 1950. The Supreme Court was established according to Part V of Chapter IV in the Constitution of India. As per India’s constitution the role of the Supreme Court is that of a federal court. It will act as the guardian of the Constitution and will be the highest court of appeal.
The supreme court of India is situated in New Delhi - the Capital City of India. The building contains three wings – central, east and west. The Chief Justice's Court is the largest of the Courts located in the central wing.
The proceedings of the Supreme Court are conducted in English only.
