Anand Bhavan in Allahabad
A nineteenth century mansion, Anand Bhavan located in the city of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, India, was established by Motilal Nehru, a famous Indian politician.
This mansion holds some historical significance as it is closely associated with the freedom struggle of India. The ancestral home of the Nehru–Gandhi family, Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi — late prime ministers of India, were born in this mansion. Today the main building of Anand Bhavan is a museum that portrays the collectibles of the Nehru–Gandhi family.
Anand Bhavan is open between 9:30 am and 5 pm. except the museum; entry to other places inside Anand Bhavan or Swaraj Bhavan is free. It will remain closed on Mondays and central government holidays.
