Rare amphibian found in Siliguri, West Bengal

The Makaibari Tea Estate in Siliguri, India has been the venue of a surprise scientific discovery. Here a rare amphibian commonly called ‘caecilians’ has been found after a gap of almost 150 years. Experts from Delhi University visited the region to conduct a thorough research on the species. Scientists have found three or four more amphibians since the first discovery and are taking care of the rare findings.
