Chinese Lunar New year or the year of Ox, India

The Chinese community in Kolkata in West Bengal, India welcomed the arrival of the Year of the Ox late in the night with celebrations despite gloom about the economy, setting off firecrackers in the streets and participating in dragon dances. Large number of people from the community took part in cultural programs and dragon dances.
