Mahapurush or the The Holy Man, film by Satyajit Ray

Kapurush Mahapurush, or The Coward and The Holy Man, are two films added to the Indian cinema collection in 1965 produced in the Bengali language, West Bengal, India and were created by Satyajit Ray. Kapurush was based on the short story titled “Janaiko Kapuruser Kahini” by Premandra Mitra.

Mahapurush is an enlightening sketch about a Hindu family who becomes the prey of a charlatan who is posing as a religious figure.

Mahapurush harbors the talents of Charuprakash Ghosh, Robi Ghosh, Prasad Mukherjee.

This film was produced by RDB & CO., and was directed by Satyajit Ray. The screenplay was modeled from the works of Premendra Mitra. The editing of the film was executed by Dulal Dutta, the Cinematography was by Soumendu Roy, Bansi Changragupta supervised Art Direction, and sound was produced by Nripen Pal, Atul Chatterjee and Sujit Sarkar. The original soundtrack was composed by Satyajit Ray himself.
