One of the two mythological films directed by Vijay Bhatt, Bharat Milap 1942 (the other being Ram Rajya) is based both on Valmiki’s Ramayana and the sage poet Thulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas. The film narrates a crucial episode from the epic Ramayana that details the predicaments of lord Ram and his brothers. The movie talks about virtues like patience, endurance, loyalty and forgiveness.
The film is considered by many as the most perfect rendition of Ramayana. Prem Adib, Athavale, Umakant Desai and Shahu Modak appear in the lead roles. Music was composed by Shankar Rao Vyas.
