A historic film set in 326 BC, Sikandar 1941 tells the tale of Alexander the Great. Directed by Sohrab Modi, the film stars Prithviraj Kapoor as Alexander and Sohrab Modi as King Puru (Porus to the Greeks).
Released during the time of World War II and Quit India, the film aroused patriotic feelings. The director was able to draw a parallel between Alexander’s invasion and the British rule and there by aroused patriotic feelings among the audience.
The battle scenes despite the absence of any special effects were presented convincingly.
