About 'Lotus Temple'

Lotus Temple also known as the Bahai Temple is the lotus shaped temple of the Bahai religion. Located in Kalkaji in the southern suburbs of New Delhi, it is one of the most spectacular pieces of modern architecture in  India.

The temple is made of marble, cement, dolomite and sand. The lotus flower signifies purity and peace and is a representation of the Manifestation of God to Indians. This house of worship is open to people of all faiths and is an ideal place for meditation. One can feel a supreme state of peace and tranquility here.

It is a very recent temple of the Bahai faith and the Baháí is the youngest of the world's independent religions. Bahai's say their religion is, divine in origin, broad in its outlook, scientific in its method, humanitarian in its principles, and dynamic in its influence.
