The character of Lord Krishna in Kathakali is noted for its beautiful costumes and make-up. Most appealing would be Krishnamuti, the ornamental headgear. This is a beautiful silver crown shaped like a vase and embellished with peacock feathers around the upper rim. The Krishnamuti is also worn by the character of Lord Rama.
