For a traveller, it may seem miraculous to see the snowy valleys of Himachal Pradesh turned into farm grounds. Many crops like cereals, pulses, mushrooms and a variety of fruits are cultivated here. The traditional as well as common food of Himachal Pradesh mostly includes cereals like wheat, rice and maize.
About 70% of the population have are directly employed of agriculture. However, the cultivated area of the state is only 10.4 per cent. The diversified seasons has much to do with the unique farming styles of this land of snow-capped mountains.
