One of the most visited places in Ladakh by travelers is obviously the Khardung La pass, which is about 100 kms from Leh,  Kashmir. It takes the credit of being the highest motorable road at a height of 5896 meters above sea level. As one approaches Khardung La, even in summer months, the mountains on either side are covered in a blanket of snow and with consistent strong breeze.
