Gol Gumbaz is the mausoleum of Muhammed Adil Shah located at Bijapur in Karnataka state, India. The district of Bijapur is considered to be one finest centres of Islamic architecture in the world. The huge dome of the Gumbaz is second only to that in the St. Peters Basilica in Rome. Even the minutest nice gets echoed 10 times inside the dome, which stands 100 ft above the floor level.

The gallery below is a circular construction of 6.3 meter in its width. The gallery and the dome are fixed on eight sturdy arches. The inside is dark and cool. There are slots left for lamps. Music and speeches echoed in the hall, before it was converted into the mausoleum of Adil Shah.
