Murals- Kerala Kalamandalam

The video shows murals at Kerala Kalamandalam, a premiere centre of arts. Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Kutiyattam, Koothu and Nangiarkoothu are taught here. Training is also given in classical Carnatic music and Panchavadyam, the traditional drum and horn ensemble of Kerala.

The Kerala Kalamandalam has been instrumental in the revival of many traditional art forms of Kerala. It was Vallathol Narayana Menon, eminent Malayalam poet, who founded this institution along with Manakkulam Mukundaraja and Kakkad Karanavappad. The Kalamandalam is situated at Cheruthuruthy in the Thrissur district of Kerala.
