About 'Sweets on sale at Sweet Meat street '

Sweet Meat street or SM street is perhaps the busiest street in Kozhikode (Calicut) district of Kerala, India. In local language the street is called Mittayi Theruvu or street of sweets.

In olden times the street was lined with several sweetmeat stalls and hence the name. Today several other kinds of shops are also located here.

The street has some good old shops where excellent sweets and candies are sold. This is the ideal location to buy the famed Kozhikodan halwa, a sweet.

Parsi Anju Amman Baug, the only Parsi Fire Temple in the state, is situated in this street.
