Cheruthoni dam, built across the river Cheruthoni, is situated near the Idukki arch dam.

This dam is the largest among the concrete gravity dams of Kerala in South India, and at a height of 454 ft, it is the third in height in India itself.

Cheruthoni dam is not very far from the Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary, and visitors to the wildlife sanctuary do a lot of boating and sightseeing at Cheruthoni also.

The place is picturesque and the views from the dam are splendid.
