Once in Munnar, the word green gets new meanings, with so many shades of it everywhere one looks. Apart from the lush green forests, the tea estates and the plantations make this destination really bewitching.
Located in Idukki district at the confluence of three rivers, Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala, this hill resort located 1600 m above sea level, had once been the favourite summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India.
Among the exotic flora found here is Neelakurinji, a rare plant which blooms once in twelve years. Anamudi, the highest peak in South India, is also located at Munnar.
