About 'Opulence at Arakkalkettu Muslim Palace Museum'

Arakkal Palce is the sole Royal Muslim household in Kerala. Located 3 kilometres from Kannur, this was once the residence of Arakkal Ali Rajas who had ruled the Malabar region. The sovereignty had been vested in the female member of the family called Arakkal Beevi if she happens to be senior to the male members. Arakkalkettu, the erstwhile collectorate of the family is now being preserved as a museum. The two-storied building has with it residential buildings, mosques, and a durbar hall. A fort built by the Portuguese is nearby.
