Featured in this video is Stupa 2 at Sanchi in the State of Madhya Pradesh in India. Sanchi, famous for the Buddhist monuments is visited by a large number of tourists and art enthusiasts throughout the year.
This stupa which is believed to have been built in the 2nd century B.C.E. is situated halfway down towards the west of the Sanchi hill. Built on an artificial terrace, this stupa is situated beneath all the other stupas on the hill.
The stupa also has some relics belonging to the two great Buddhist teachers, Kasyapagotra and Suvijayita.
