Indian Indigo

Botanical name - Indigofera tinctoria
Family - Papilionacea

A shrub growing up to 1.5m. This has the ability to remove obstruction to excretion through pores of the body. Poultice of leaves is applied locally for skin diseases and piles. For skin allergy due to insect bite plant juice is applied. The dye extracted from leaves known as indigo is a soothing balm for scalds and burn. Its dust is applied to ulcers to promote healing.
