Bear rescued from well

Wild animals sometimes stray into human settlements for reasons they know best. A bear made such an attempt, which in turn resulted in trouble. The incident happened in Kalladikode in Palakkad district of Kerala, South India.

The bear while attacking a rubber tapping labourer, fell into a 30-foot deep well. An attempt to rescue the bear using a ladder was not successful and hence the animal had to wait for about 17 hours, before it was tranquilized and rescued by the forest and fire force personnel. The animal was then caged and released into the nearby Kalladikode forest.
