Dedicated to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom and Empress of India, the Victoria Memorial Hall is located in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), the capital city of West Bengal state, India.
The memorial was designed by Sir. William Emerson and its architecture resembles the Indo-Saracenic style. It is an autonomous organization within the Government of India’s Ministry of Culture and is presently a museum and a favourite tourist attraction.
