Thripunithura Athachamayam

This video is about the spectacular Athachamayam procession held at Thripunithura. This event marks the official beginning of Onam celebrations in Kerala. It is basically a cultural procession that would have caparisoned elephants, colourful floats, various folk and classical dance forms, traditional percussion ensembles, and even some of the folk arts of the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu like Karagattam, Mayilattom and Ammankudam.
