Kutiyattam is a traditional form of Sanskrit theatre which originated in Kerala. This dance form is around two millennia old and has historical significance. Recently UNESCO has declared Kutiyattam as among the “Masterpieces of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity”.

Balivadham is an eventful part in the epic Ramayana. The play portrays the killing of Bali, the king of Kishkinta and the son of Lord Indra (Lord of Heavan). Bali has a misunderstanding with his brother Sugriva and as a result Sugriva’s wife is forced to become Bali’s consort. So Sugriva asks Lord Rama for help and eventually Rama kills Bali.
