Nandi, Satriya dance
Satriya is a dance form which originated in the island of Majuli, situated in the middle of the Brahmaputra River in Assam, the northeastern state of India. In this video you can see Nandi, a part in Satriya dance performed by renowned artiste Anita Sharma.
This dance is a prayer to avoid uncertainties. Nandi means prayers of kings, deity, and brahman recited in verse at the opening of a drama. Nandi followed by a pure dance form of Satriya dance is known as Sutra Dhari.
