Surya Kund, Hazaribagh

This video features Surya Kund (Suraj Kund), located on GT Road, 60 km from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand state of India. It is situated in Barkaththa block. It is a major tourist attraction and a peaceful place away from the crowded town.

There are five pools in this place namely Surya Kund, Lakshman Kund, Brahm Kund, Ram kund and Sita Kund which contain hot water of different temperatures. The main Kund is considered to be Surya Kund and it has the hottest water in it.

It is said that the water of Surya Kund gets cooled amazingly during the solar eclipse. It is considered as a most sacred place where tourists and devotees often visit to offer their prayers. You also get to visit the temples of Lord Shiva, Krishna Radha and Maa Durga (the goddess), which is ancient.
