Ingredients
Green chilies (split) - 4
Curry leaves
Tomato - 3 nos
Shallots - 2 nos
Ginger (chopped) - 1½ tsp
Garlic - 1½ tsp
Chilli powder - 1½ tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Fenugreek powder (roasted) - ½ tsp
Tamarind water
Paste of grounded coconut
Prawns - ½ kg
Coconut oil - 1½ cup

How to prepare Thalassery Prawns Curry?

Ideally, an earthen vessel is used for cooking this fish curry dish. Take one and heat some oil. Into this, put shallots, split green chillies, garlic and chopped pieces of ginger. Saute well. Next, add some red chilli powder, turmeric powder and pieces of tomato and stir gently. If required, add some more coconut oil.

Next to go in is the paste of grounded coconut. Mix the ingredients well. You may now add the prawns, followed by enough salt and water. Cover the vessel and cook for some more time. Remove the lid and add the roasted fenugreek powder and some tamarind water and top it up with the curry leaves.
