Pandi Melam led by Padma Shri Mattannur Sankarankutty

 Featured here is a Pandi Melam, traditional classical orchestra of Kerala, led by the veteran percussionist Padma Shri Mattannur Sankarankutty. Pandi Melam and Panchari Melam are the two major traditional orchestras performed in the temple festivals of Kerala. The instruments used in Pandi Melam are chenda, ilathalam (cymbals) kuzhal and kombu (wind instruments).
