Parumala Perunnal is the annual feast of the church of Parumala, in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, South India. It is the day of the death anniversary of Bishop Mar Gregorios Metropolitan, the first canonized saint of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. He is locally known as Parumala Thirumeni.
The weeklong festivities as part of Parumala Perunnal are colorful and include a flag hoisting ceremony, besides other rituals like special services and a well-attended procession with decorated pageants. Devotees from all parts of the state take part in the celebrations.
