Strike aircraft MiG-23 BN retires

After serving the Air Force for nearly three decades, single-engine strike aircraft MiG-23 BN was given a farewell at a formal 'phasing out' ceremony at the Halwara airbase in Punjab. A befitting farewell in the form of a 'phasing out ceremony' was presided over by Chief of Air Staff Fali H Major. Air Force Station at Halwara had been the home to the Valiants Squadron ever since MiG-23 BN was inducted in February 1982.
