Peacock Pose

Kneel down and sit on your heels. Widen your knees. Lift the arms together up in front of the body with palms facing upwards. Then place the palms on the ground with fingers pointing backwards. Slowly bend forward and rest the abdomen on the elbows. While keeping your palms firmly on the ground bend the body further forward and lower your forehead until it rests on the floor.

Now stretch your legs straight back one by one. From this position slowly lift your head off the ground. Now your body weight is on your arms and on the toes. Take a deep breath. Shift the body weight forwards which automatically enables your legs to take off from the ground. Remain in the position for a few seconds.

The asana revitalizes the digestive system in addition to strengthening the wrist muscles. It also enhances mental concentration.
