About 'Anjali Mudra'

In Hasthalakshanadeepika, the classical text on the dances of Kerala, India, there are 24 basic mudras or hand signs mentioned. These Mudras are used in the classical dance dramas of Kerala, like Kathakali, Kutiyattam, Nangiarkoothu, Mohiniyattam and Ottanthullal.

Holding all the fingers straight without touching each other with the palm held slightly concave is Anjali.
Some signs in the Anjali mode using both palms indicate :
Heavy rainfall, vomit, fire, horse, harsh sounds, brightness, hair, ear rings, heat, agitation, always, river, bath, water current and blood.
Tree branch and anger can be shown with one palm in the Anjali mode.
